ABOUT THE SEMINOLE POLICE EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT PROGRAM
The Seminole Tribe of Florida Emergency Management program was created with the goal of protecting the Tribe from all hazards by coordinating and integrating all activities necessary to build, sustain, and improve the capability to mitigate, prepare for, respond to, and recover from threatened or actual natural disasters, acts of terrorism, or other man-made disasters. Since the inception of the Emergency Management program, our program has progressed in its mission by incorporating new and evolving technologies and practices.
Today, the growing complexity of disaster occurrences and our responses to them requires Emergency Management to be proactive in its approach, calculating in its application and consistent in its message. Emergency management is a never-ending cycle of mitigation, preparedness, response, recovery and prevention. The cycle requires extensive management and coordination to ensure that all Tribal departments, personnel, assets, and resources work together efficiently and effectively to protect the health, safety, and the welfare of Tribal Members, as well as visitors and the communities in which they all live, work, and play. The Emergency Management program is committed to achieving its mission, thereby creating a more disaster resilient Seminole Tribe.
